With a universal kaleidoscope of minerals Tobia Scarpa interprets a collection of animals with polychrome marbles.
“Our life is ever more turbulent, producing a level of waste that has become intolerable, and we are obliged to open our minds to the need to be sparing with our resources. The issue of parsimony in relation to marble led to the idea that during design nothing should be wasted, not even the fragments. Recuperating the elements that until now were waste could represent a reasonable compromise in order to abide by the virtuous principle we are following.”
“Living with the multi-coloured presence of different types of minerals sparks our memories and fills us with life, well-being and joy.” T. Scarpa
The shapes are drawn based on the proportions of the golden rectangle.
